Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse

For professionals who work with children ages 0-17, as well as parents and the community-at-large, Kalin’s Center offers training on recognizing and reporting child abuse.

The curriculum educates adults about the realities of child abuse, equipping participants to appropriately respond to abuse in their schools, homes and community.

Adults are taught:

  • child abuse facts
  • how to recognize the physical and behavioral signs of all forms of child abuse
  • how to respond to an outcry of abuse from a child
  • legal mandates on reporting abuse in Houston & Trinity Counties and the State of Texas.

For every adult educated on child abuse, ten children are made safer from the dangers of such abuse.

Kalin’s Center offers a 1 hour seminar at no cost to participants. Contact our Community Outreach Coordinator, Julie Lehr, to schedule training for your school, community organization, day care or church group.
